2016 Louvau Vineyard Roussanne

Vintage Summary

Originally grown in the Rhone wine region of France, Roussanne is a primary component in the white wines of Chateauneuf-du-Pape.   Roussanne drinks very well as a young wine, but will develop more complexity and depth if aged 7-8 years.

TASTING NOTES:  Light gold in color, this wine offers stone fruit, nutmeg, and Meyer lemon aromas.  The fruit flavors are balanced with a rich, creamy brioche while an appetizing layer of subtle acidity balances out the full mouth feel.

FOOD PAIRING:  This wine is an excellent with rich shellfish and salmon dishes such as lobster bisque, steamed Littleneck clams in a white wine sauce, or Cedar Plank salmon with a strawberry salsa.
