2019 Roussanne, Louvau Vineyard
Dry Creek Valley
Originally grown in the Rhone wine region of France, Roussanne is a primary component in the white wines of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Roussanne drinks very well as a young wine, but will develop more complexity and depth if aged 7-8 years.
TASTING NOTES: Aromas of brioche and nasturtium flowers are complemented by grilled peaches. This wine is balanced with papaya and dried peach flavors with hints of vanilla and baking spice on the palate. An appetizing layer of subtle acidity balances out the full mouth feel.
FOOD PAIRING: A full-bodied white, this wine is excellent with rich shellfish or poultry dishes. Try this wine with Moroccan-spiced chicken or steamed clams and mussels in a white wine butter sauce with plenty of sourdough bread.
